Homework: September 29

Hello everyone!

Today we discussed parts of speech and how descriptive language helps to create an image in your mind.  We then talked about how readers remember the information they are reading.

For Homework:  Arnold (from Part-Time Indian) shares that he has attended many funerals in his short life.  Many of the deaths from his community are related to alcohol.

Level 1:  What is one thing you think we as a community should STOP doing? Why?

Level 2:  What is a vice (something people depend on) tour communities have that we should stop?  Provide one piece of evidence (either from text or your real life) to support your thinking.

Level 3:  What vice do we have that causes harm to our communities?  If it causes so much harm, why do people keep doing it?  How would you suggest we change?  Provide evidence (either from text or your real life) to support your thinking.

Level 2:  Compare and contrast two of your favorite teachers (they do not need to be from school).  How are they the same?  How are they different?

Level 3: Compare and contrast two of your favorite teachers (they do not need to be from school).  How are they the same?  How are they different?  What is the most important lesson you have learned from each of them?
